Plan around your actual property
A kitchen in Bath should be planned from its own dimensions and constraints. Do not assume that every Bath home is Georgian, listed or difficult to access. Record the conditions that apply to your address and ask us to assess them.
For an initial conversation, note the kitchen floor level, steps, doorways, changes of direction and a possible unloading location. Photographs help explain the route, but the delivery team must confirm what is practical.
Resolve property restrictions early
If the project may affect a listed building or a property in a conservation area, check the position with Bath & North East Somerset Council before committing to relevant alterations. The council provides conservation-area guidance and a pre-application advice route. Listing and conservation-area status are different questions; this page does not determine whether your works need consent.
Use the council’s conservation-area guidance to start with official information.
Make the kitchen brief specific
List what stays, what changes and who is responsible for adjoining finishes and services. A worktop-only replacement and a complete new kitchen need different coordination. See replacement worktop planning for the first, and templating and installation for the wider sequence.
Prepare for your survey
Include your postcode, access details and preferred timing in your project brief so the survey and delivery can be planned around your home.
